The Darlington Half Marathon is a fast, flat and fully road‑closed course starting and finishing in the heart of the town. The route heads out onto closed local roads and quiet rural lanes, offering smooth running surfaces and long, flowing sections designed for speed and confident pacing.
An informal bag drop is located within the event village. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number — tear off the strip, attach it to your bag and leave it in the bag‑drop marquee. Collect it after your race.
Toilets are located within the event village — follow the signs. Queues can build in the final half hour before the start, so please plan ahead. We will also have toilets available on the course. Locations will be confirmed closer to the event, but we usually position them near water stations so they’re easy to find.
Water stations are positioned around the course at approximately each 5k, with bottled water available at the finish. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead‑up to the event.
You’re very welcome to come and support the event. The town‑centre event village is the best place to enjoy the atmosphere, with views of both the start and the finish. You can also head out onto the closed‑road sections around Darlington to cheer runners along the route.
Accessible viewing areas are available, and our team is on hand to support anyone who may need assistance on arrival.
Race packs are posted to everyone who entered by Sunday 22nd November; anyone who entered after that collects theirs at registration on the day. If yours hasn't arrived by the Friday before the race, email info@runthrough.co.uk or collect it at registration.
A group warm‑up will take place 15 minutes before the race start. After this, runners will be asked to line up behind the pace boards showing expected finish times, helping everyone to self‑seed safely and smoothly before the start.
The cut‑off time for the Darlington Half Marathon is 3 hours. If you think you may take longer than this, please email info@runthrough.co.uk before the event so we can advise on the options. We want everyone to finish, and letting us know in advance helps us plan marshal support and manage road‑closure timings safely.
We will have an official photographer at the event, please check out our photos page after the race.
Results will be available here immediately after the race. https://www.runthrough.co.uk/results

Town‑centre parking is available in several public car parks within walking distance of the start/finish area. Due to road closures for the race and the number of runners arriving, please plan to arrive early. For the most up‑to‑date options, including prices and walking distances, we recommend checking Parkopedia before you travel. When using on‑street parking, please respect residents’ access at all times.
